Please note that the service scheduled for tonight, December 9th at 5:30 PM has been canceled due to the weather.  Tomorrow’s service at 9:00 am is as scheduled.  Reminder that our annual meeting is tomorrow immediately following the  service    Your attendance is important as a quorum needs to be met.  Please pass this information on to individuals who may not have access to a computer.

Pat Kennedy and Jean Dinneen of the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank with a check for $300 from Zion Lutheran for the work of their organization. While centered in the Philadelphia area, the diaper bank also serves organizations in the Lehigh Valley. Zion Lutheran is one of those organizations. The diapers we bring to Tamaqua go to member and non-member families and to Birthright in Pottsville. The diaper bank depends on contributions from diaper companies and uses donated funds to purchase diaper sizes not given to them. Last year, the bank spent over $30,000 purchasing diapers. Diapers are distributed four times a year. Judy Brennan is Zion’s diaper coordinator. The June Joyful Noise collection totaled $94 and Outreach provided $204 from its fund.
