For the fifth time, Tamaqua Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church’s Culinary and Outreach teams presented a check for $2,000 to a community emergency unit. This year’s recipient is the Tamaqua Rescue Squad. The money is raised through a July benefit ice cream social and through the monthly Zion’s Blessings thrift sales at the church. Present at the check presentation are Jeremy Westwood, Tamaqua Rescue Squad; Art Connely and Glenn Fritzinger, Zion Culinary; and Matthew Hill and Mike Westwood, Tamaqua Rescue Squad. Tamaqua’s four fire departments are previous recipients of equal donations.
